"Give When it's not Fair, Live Life for Another, Take time for a Brother, Find Faith in the Battle"

Well, Hello selfless people out there,
For those who do not know me or remember me, let me refresh your memories.
My name is Kelly McColm, daughter of Michel McColm. My father and I have been traveling to Rwanda every November, through Ten Talents International with a team of some wonderful missionaries from different states. While we are in Rwanda, we share Christmas celebrations with children different ages.  Children we celebrate with include Ten Talents Rwanda group homes, at Risk children and their families and Imizi children’s center located about an hour away from the capitol of Rwanda (Kigali).

Our wonderful missionaries, raise money through friends, family, and churches to purchase school supplies for the children. These materials are given in form of a Christmas presents to children. Now, if you are a child in USA, you may think “what kind of a Christmas present is that”? well that is actually a huge present for some kids in Rwanda. Let me tell you why, while here in the states we ask for “silly stuff” for Christmas, some children not only in Rwanda but some other countries as well, will ask for necessities/basic needs rather than a “Want” because they do not have the luxury of asking for “Wants”

So briefly that is why we give them school supplies as their Christmas presents plus a fancy meal shared with caregivers, and us (missionaries). I will list down what we usually collect to take with us and if you feel led to help in anyway please let me know.

1.       Backpacks
2.       Shoes
3.       Socks
4.       Underpants
5.       Pens and pencils
6.       Notebooks
7.       A pair of outfit

All these items are put together in backpacks by our missionaries. names of kids will be then written on each bag. Every child receives one backpack full of school materials, shoes, and some cloths. We as missionaries we love doing what we do but we also know that our work would not be possible if it was not for the kind people that help us through donations and giving.

For those who also know me, know that every year I give myself a task of raising money to bless some of these kids and their families in a big way. Although most of my fundraising have been limited to children and families in Ten Talents Rwanda Programs, this year I would like to extend this fundraising to Imizi children’s center. Imizi children’s center is an organization that we have been collaborating with every year we travel to Rwanda. We love spending time with the boys and their caregivers, listening to their stories of where they came from and where they are going.

We have also been blessed in big ways with these kids, every time we’ve visited we have been allowed to share Christ with them and I personally cannot be more grateful as I love sharing about our savior with everyone I come in contact with. This year I would like to raise money to buy these boys some necessities like:

1.       Bedsheets
2.       towels
3.       Shoes (to fit children 4-18 years)
4.       soccer Jerseys
5.       Medical supplies such as bandages, painkillers, gloves etc.
6.       Bibles (both testaments)

7.       Additionally, I would like to raise about $1200 for a good meal with these kids.
I am so grateful to those who have been helping, donating, praying, and keeping our mission trips going every year.

We like to give children new cloths and bags and unfortunately, we will not be able to take used materials, it’s with that sense that ask, if you will be purchasing anything for us to take please leave the tags on as things have changed In Rwanda (if you need more information on this please email me)
I will be creating a Wishlist on amazon since this will be the best way to get materials to myself or my family. You can also donate though Ten Talents International Website under the giving page and if you do not mind, just indicate in the note that it is for Kelly’s fundraising and we will make sure it was received.

There will be a GoFundMe page.
